an inferno of sadness
threatens this valley of shame
depression sets in
it's the same old game

my mind cannot see
what tears flood away
it's making me crazy
insane thoughts, here to stay

stare out the window
cry on the floor
i forget for a moment
what am i fighting for?

please someone yank
the window shade down
if one more thing hurts me
i fear i shall drown

self pity abounds
in this troubled abyss
why can't you understand me
always hit and miss

focus on one's self
i know this lesson i've bought
for if i don't learn it
my heart can't be caught

keep trying
ah, the broken record gets old
"i'm sorries" and "please forgive me"
forever and ever told

teachings to learn
things to just LET GO
if i don't get it soon
i never will grow.
